Coaches

Chris Evans is currently at The Taft School in Watertown, Ct. He was named All New England first team this past year in football and basketball, and was the MVP of the WNEC this past winter in basketball as he led his team to the semi finals. Previous to attending Taft, Chris spent four years at Stamford High School where he held the record for touchdown receptions in one season and career, and was a four year starter for the basketball team. Chris was all FCIAC as a junior in both sports and was named all state dduring his senior year. He led the 2009 Stamford High team to their first FCIAC championship and was named post season MVP. Chris is currently committed to Sacred Heart University where he will be playing basketball next year.
Jethro Anilus Jethro Anilus is currently a senior student at Stamford High school and is on his way to graduating this June. He is also a tri-captain on the Stamford High’s varsity basketball team and won Stamford High’s first F.C.I.A.C league tittle last year. During that time he was named MSG+PLUS High School Game of the week MVP. Jethro is not only an athlete and does not only perform well on the basketball court, but he is a scholor and aslo does his duties in the classroom. Jethro has a GPA of 3.4 an A, B student and is currently taking AP and Honors courses. After high school he would like to go to college and persue his Bacherlors degree and continue to progress from there.
Mark Ellis – Mark is a 2010 graduate of Stamford High School. While at Stamford High, Mark was a four year Varsity Basketball Letter Winner. During his senior year he served as a tri-captain and had over twenty in game dunks. During his junior season Mark was a key contributor for Stamford High’s Varsity Basketball team as they took home the 2009 FCIAC Championship. Mark has been named to three All-FCIAC teams, and as a senior was nominated by the McDonalds All American Foundation as one of the top basketball players in the country. Mark is looking forward to taking his game to the collegiate level in 2010.

Michael Tiscia, Counselor- Mike is currently a student at Eastern Connecticut State University. He is a Communications major and hopes to become either a broadcaster or journalist in the sports field. Michael played under coach Melzer his freshman year at Stamford High School.

Michael was a 3 year varsity starter on the Stamford High School boys basketball team and was named captain his junior and senior year. His two clinching free throws helped Stamford High win the FCIAC championship in 2009. Michael was named to the 2009 All FCIAC Western Division team and acheived 2009 All State LL Academic honors. Michael was also a 2 year starter on the Stamford High Varsity Baseball team and was named to the 2008 and 2009 All FCIAC Western teams.

Kelsey Cognetta- Kelsey is currently a sophomore at Stamford High School and has been a varsity player for the last two seasons. During her freshman season as a varsity player, she was part of the FCIAC finalist Black Knights. After losing key starters going into her second season, Kelsey led Stamford High to a 15-5 record. She was awarded First Team All-FCIAC and averaged about 13 points per game. She is an honors student and maintains an A- average. After high school she hopes to continue to play sports in college and eventually persue a career in athletic training.
